So you might be wondering: Who in the world is Nordic? They sound like a bunch of Vikings or something. Well, no they aren’t Vikings, but they are well known treadmill companies who have been around for about 25 years. Before I talk about their product lines, let me give you a brief overview of the company.
About 25 years ago, Nordic released a brand of “cross country skier” products. By owning a NordicTrack skier, you could now “ski” and lose weight from the comfort of your home. This fad lasted through the 80s, but as the 90s approached Nordic wanted to keep up with the times. Nordic used wooden skis, using patented designs and resistance levels that made using a Nordic feel like you were really skiing. As the early 90s approached, Nordic began to introduce smooth machines that were easy on the body. They released elliptical machines., and then in the late 1990s they began to expand into the treadmill business.
They market themselves for serious athletes, fitness freaks, and adventure types.
Let’s talk about three types of treadmills that NordicTrack offers.
First, the NordicTrack T 5.7. It comes with a 2.5 CHP motor, with a 10% incline level. This means that even if you live in an area with flat land, you can still climb at inclines as if you were cross country training! The deck comes with special cushioning to go easy on the feet, with a treadbelt that is 20 inches by 55 inches, includes a backlight display that is 6 inches long, and last but not least includes a pretty sweet lifetime frame warranty, 25 year motor warranty, and 1 year parts and labor for anything else that might go wrong with the unit.

Next, the Incline Trainer X9i unit. Cost a little bit more than the above model, but uses a commercial motor. Incline goes up to a whopping 40% and even declines 6%. Special cushioning to go easy on your feet and joints is included, with a longer treadbelt at 62 inches (vs 55 above), includes an iFit tablet powered by Android, with another amazing warranty: Lifetime frame and motor, Five year parts and electronics warranty and two years of labor included on the unit. Great if you want a machine that simulates walking up or down a mountain!

Last but not least, something more in the middle of the two models above: Commercial 1500. Includes a 3.25 CHP motor, goes up to 15% incline and 3% decline, includes the patented QuadFlex cushioning. Now here comes the difference: The belt is commercial grade (meaning in my opinion, the commercial grade units usually last longer than the home or regular units). The treadmill is iFit compatible with an 8” backlight display. Another whopping warranty with lifetime frame, motor, deck covered. Parts, electronics covered for 5 years while labor is only covered for 2 years.

All in all, Nordic is a great company that offers great products.
